Empowering Dreams at Phillipsburg Elementary School with Motivational Youth Speaker Eddie Cortes

On March 20th, the halls of Phillipsburg Elementary Schools in NJ were filled with excitement and anticipation as I had the honor of being invited to speak to elementary students about building resilience and fostering positive self-worth.

Unleashing Potential: The Im.POSSIBLE Message

During our time together, I had the privilege of sharing the Im.POSSIBLE School Assembly—a transformative experience aimed at helping students realize that their potential is limitless. Together, we explored the idea that what they can be is far greater than what they perceive as limitations.

Through engaging stories, interactive activities, and heartfelt discussions, we delved into the importance of perseverance, determination, and the belief in oneself. Students left the assembly empowered with the confidence and determination needed to conquer the seemingly impossible.

Cultivating Resilience: The I CAN I WILL Mindset Workshop

In addition to the school assembly, I had the opportunity to host a workshop for 24 exceptional students focused on cultivating an I CAN I WILL mindset. We discussed the inspiring story of Coach Rob Mendez, who, despite being born with tetra-amelia syndrome, reimagined his dream of playing active part in the game of football to become a successful coach.

During the workshop, students bravely shared their own struggles and challenges, demonstrating remarkable resilience and inner strength. Their stories were a testament to the power of determination and the ability to overcome obstacles in pursuit of their dreams.

A Heartwarming Experience

Speaking at Phillipsburg Elementary Schools was truly an amazing experience. The students were brimming with energy, enthusiasm, and an eagerness to learn. Their engagement throughout the entire presentation was inspiring, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of their journey.

A Grateful Thank You

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Principal Darlene Noel for extending the invitation and for her warm hospitality. Her dedication to fostering a nurturing school environment where students are encouraged to realize their fullest potential is truly commendable.

Until We Meet Again

As I reflect on my time at Phillipsburg Elementary School, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to inspire and empower these incredible students. I look forward to the possibility of returning in the future and continuing this journey of resilience and self-discovery together. Until next time!

ABOUT SCHOOL ASSEMBLY SPEAKER EDDIE CORTES

With over 20 years of experience, Eddie Cortes is regarded as one of the most engaging elementary and middle school speakers in the youth market. His mission is to empower students to build resilience and a positive self-worth.

This mission is personal. As a middle schooler, Eddie stopped believing in himself. In fact, his negative self-view impacted his grades, relationships, choices, and ultimately his dreams.

This experience is what fuels Eddie’s mission. He wants every elementary and middle school student to know that they are worthy of their dreams and have the tools to chase them.
